Scottish Haggis Casserole
A hearty, comforting casserole made with traditional Scottish haggis, perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 package Haggis
- β1 pound Ground beef
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β8 oz Mushroomssliced
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β4 tablespoons Bacon drippings
- β2 cups Beef broth
- β2 cups Mashed potatoes
- β1 cup Cheddar cheeseshredded

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet and continue to cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the haggis to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef and vegetables.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and bacon drippings until well combined.

Add the beef broth to the skillet and stir to combine with the haggis mixture.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

In a separate pot, boil the mashed potatoes until heated through.

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, create a layer of the haggis mixture, followed by a layer of mashed potatoes.

Repeat the layers two more times, ending with a layer of mashed potatoes on top.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
