Croatian-Style Cheesecake Knafeh
A unique dessert that combines the flaky, buttery crust of a brioche with the creamy, cheesy goodness of knafeh, a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, adding a touch of Croatian flair.
Ingredients
- β1 sheet Brioche doughhomemade or store-bought
- β1 cup Knafeh cheesericotta or similar cheese
- β1 cup Fermented creamsuch as sour cream or buttermilk
- β1 cup Granulated sugaror to taste
- β1/2 cup Unsalted buttermelted
- β1/2 cup Confectioners' sugarfor dusting

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out brioche dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6 mm).

Cut out circles of dough to fit 6-8 ramekins or small cups.

Place a circle of dough into each ramekin, pressing it into the bottom and up the sides.

In a separate bowl, mix together knafeh cheese, fermented cream, and granulated sugar.

Spoon the cheese mixture into each ramekin, filling to the top.
