Croatian Risotto Gratin
A creamy risotto topped with a crispy gratin crust, inspired by Croatian cuisine. This dish is perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- β250g Risotto
- β1L Beef Stock
- β200g Dense Croatska Smetana
- β1 tsp Fermented Paprika
- β50g Parmesan Cheese
- β Salt
- β Black Pepper
- β20g Butter
- β20g Fresh Parsley

Heat the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the risotto and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the beef stock, one ladle at a time, stirring continuously.

When the risotto is cooked, stir in the Croatian Smetana and Parmesan Cheese.

Transfer the risotto to a baking dish and top with a layer of grated cheese.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the risotto is baking, mix the fermented paprika with a little water to create a paste.

Brush the paste over the top of the gratin during the last 5 minutes of baking.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with parsley.
