Dutch Herring Pickle Fritters
A crispy fritter recipe that combines the flavors of the Dutch herring and pickles. Perfect as a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, flaked Dutch herring
- β1/2 cup, finely chopped Pickle
- β1/4 cup, finely chopped Fermented pickles
- β1/4 cup, shredded Oozey cheese
- β1 cup All-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- β2 Eggs
- β1/2 tsp Salt
- β1/4 tsp Black pepper

In a large bowl, combine the flaked herring, chopped pickles, chopped fermented pickles, and shredded cheese.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, and black pepper.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Using a spoon, drop small balls of the mixture into a hot skillet with about 1/2 inch of oil.

Fry the fritters until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
