Croatian Pecorino Croissant Fritters
A fusion of Croatian and Italian flavors, these crispy fritters are a twist on traditional croissants filled with creamy Pecorino cheese.
Ingredients
- β1 package (thawed) Croissant doughhomemade or store-bought
- β8 oz, crumbled Pecorino cheese
- β4 oz, crumbled Festive cheese
- β1, beaten Egg
- β1 cup (for dusting) Flour
- β1/2 cup, for frying Oil
Instructions

Dust the thawed croissant dough with flour and roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

In a bowl, mix together crumbled Pecorino and Festive cheese.

Place a spoonful of cheese mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges of the dough with beaten egg and fold in half to form a triangle.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
