Classic Polish Pilaf
A hearty and flavorful pilaf dish that's perfect for a cold winter evening.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Mixed Pilaf Rice
- β1 pound, sliced Polish SausageSafe cooking temperature: 160Β°F (71Β°C)
- β1 medium, chopped Festive Onions
- βto taste Grain of Salt
- β1 medium, peeled and diced Juicy Carrots
- β2 cups Water
- β2 tablespoons Bacon Fat

Heat the bacon fat in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the sliced Polish sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped festive onions and cook until they're translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the peeled and diced juicy carrots and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Add the mixed pilaf rice, water, and grain of salt to the saucepan. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
