Sausage Skillet
A hearty german-inspired sausage skillet with a spicy kick. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, sliced sausageany type of sausage works, such as bratwurst or knockwurst
- β1 large skilletcast-iron or stainless steel preferred
- β2, sliced fiery pepperssuch as jalapenos or banana peppers
- β1, sliced onionany type of onion works
- β3 cloves, minced garlicoptional, but adds depth of flavor
- β2, peeled and sliced potatoesoptional, but adds substance
- βto taste saltuse a flaky sea salt for best flavor
- βto taste pepperfreshly ground black pepper is best
Instructions

Heat the skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.

Add the sliced peppers and cook until tender, about 2 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the sliced potatoes (if using) and cook until they start to brown, about 2 minutes.

Return the sausage to the skillet and stir to combine with the vegetables.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
