Gochujang Tagine Chicken
A spicy and smoky North African-inspired chicken dish made with gochujang and served over couscous.
Ingredients
- β4 chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons gochujang
- β1 teaspoon tagine spice mixsmoky
- β1 cup couscous
- β1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Heat the olive oil in a large tagine or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the gochujang, tagine spice mix, and 1 cup of water to the tagine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover the tagine, and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Fluff the cooked couscous with a fork and serve the chicken and sauce over the top.

Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve immediately.
