German Tagine Chicken
A flavorful and juicy chicken dish inspired by traditional Moroccan tagine, but with a German twist, using flaky pastry for a crispy crust.
Ingredients
- β1 sheet, thawed Flaky Pastry
- β4 Chicken Thighs
- β1 Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 cup Chicken Broth
- β1 tsp Dried Thyme
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- β2 tbsp Butter

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken to the pan and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and add chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.

Roll out the flaky pastry to fit the top of the baking dish.

Place the pastry on top of the chicken and trim the edges to fit.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the chicken is cooked through.
