Jamaican Pear Galette
A twist on the traditional pastry, this jamaican pear galette combines the sweetness of pears with the warmth of jamaican spices.
Ingredients
- β1 sheet flaky pastry doughhomemade or store-bought
- β3 pearsany variety, peeled and sliced
- β1 tsp jamaican spices (allspice, thyme, scotch bonnet pepper)adjust to taste
- β2 tbsp honeyoptional
- β1 tsp almond extractoptional
- β1/4 tsp flaky sea saltoptional
- β1/4 cup unsalted buttermelted

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the flaky pastry dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

In a large bowl, mix together the sliced pears, jamaican spices, honey, almond extract, and flaky sea salt.

Spread the pear mixture evenly over the center of the pastry dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Fold the edges of the pastry dough up over the filling, pressing gently to seal.

Dot the top of the galette with the melted unsalted butter.
