Polish Bean Stew with Flaky Crust
A hearty Polish-inspired stew made with beans and served with a crispy flaky crust. Perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- β1 sheet Flaky Polish Pastry
- β1 cup Dried Beans
- β2 medium Carrots
- β2 medium Onions
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 Bay Leaves
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel and chop the carrots and onions.

Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onions and cook until softened.

Add the chopped carrots and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the dried beans, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper.

Pour in enough water to cover the beans and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Roll out the flaky pastry to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Place the pastry over the beans and crimp the edges.

Cut a few slits in the top of the pastry to allow steam to escape.
