Spicy Arabian Almond Baklava
A Middle Eastern-inspired dessert that combines crunchy phyllo, sweet almond paste, and a hint of heat from the spicy nuts.
Ingredients
- β1 package (usually 20-24 sheets) Flaky Pastry (Phyllo)
- β1 cup Spicy Almonds
- β1 cup Saudi Arabian Almond Paste
- β1 cup Granulated Sugar
- β1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- β1/2 teaspoon Ground Cardamom
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt

Thaw the phyllo pastry according to the package instructions.

Mix together almond paste, sugar, cardamom, and salt in a bowl.

Arrange 4-5 sheets of phyllo in a baking dish, brushing with melted butter.

Spread a quarter of the almond paste mixture over the phyllo.

Repeat the phyllo and almond paste layers 2 more times.

Top with the remaining phyllo sheets, brushing with melted butter.

Cut the baklava into diamond-shaped pieces and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
