Middle Eastern Fragrant Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

- ●1/2 cup Ayurvedic Red Rice
- ●2 tablespoons Olive Oilfor sautéing
- ●1 medium Onionchopped
- ●2 cloves Garlicminced
- ●1 teaspoon Turmericground
- ●1 teaspoon Cuminground
- ●to taste Saltfor seasoning
- ●1/4 cup Fresh Parsleychopped, for garnish

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

Add the turmeric, cumin, and salt. Stir to combine.

Add the fragrant rice and ayurvedic red rice. Stir to coat the rice with the spice mixture.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
