Crispy Orange Candied Peel
A sweet and crunchy snack made by candying orange peel and frying it until crispy.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup Orange Peelpreferably organic
- ●2 cups Granulated Sugar
- ●1 cup Water
- ●2 cups Vegetable Oil
- ●1/4 teaspoon Salt
Instructions

Peel the orange and cut it into thin strips.

Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Add the orange peel strips to the sugar syrup and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the peel is tender and lightly caramelized.

Remove the peel from the syrup with a slotted spoon and let it cool on a wire rack.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the candied orange peel in batches until crispy and golden brown.

Drain the fried peel on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
