Vietnamese Chicken Pho
A delicious and comforting Vietnamese noodle soup made with chicken, herbs, and spices. Serve with your choice of garnishes, such as bean sprouts, lime wedges, and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breastcut into thin slices
- β4 cups ga (vietnamese chicken broth)store-bought or homemade
- β1 package pho noodlesdried or fresh
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β onionthinly sliced
- β fish sauce
- β soy sauce
- β sugar
- β bean sproutsfor serving
- β fresh herbssuch as basil, mint, and lime wedges for serving
Instructions

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a large pot.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and add the sliced chicken. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through.

Cook the pho noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a small pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

Add the sliced onion to the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until softened.

To assemble the pho, place some noodles in a bowl, then add slices of chicken and some of the hot broth.

Garnish with bean sprouts, fresh herbs, and a squeeze of lime juice.

If using, add some fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar to taste.
