Garlicky German Potato Gratin
A creamy, cheesy potato dish infused with the flavors of garlic and Germany.
Ingredients

- β2 pounds Potatoesthinly sliced
- β1 cup Gratin Cheesegrated
- β2 tablespoons Butterunsalted
- β1/2 cup Heavy Creamoptional
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large saucepan, combine sliced potatoes and enough cold water to cover them.

Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Drain potatoes and set aside.

In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

Add minced garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.

Stir in grated cheese until melted and smooth.

If using heavy cream, stir it in at this point.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, arrange a layer of potatoes.

Pour half of the cheese mixture over the potatoes.

Repeat the layers, starting with the potatoes and then the remaining cheese mixture.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
