Tunisian Tagine Chicken
A rich and flavorful chicken dish inspired by Tunisian cuisine, made with marzipan and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 lbs chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β4 tbsp garlicky buttersee note 1
- β2 tbsp indulgent honeysee note 2
- β2 tsp tunisian spice blendsee notes
- β1/2 cup marzipanchopped
- β1 cup chicken brothlow sodium
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor cooking
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the chicken breast and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the garlicky butter, indulgent honey, and tunisian spice blend. Stir to combine.

Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

Transfer the Dutch oven to the preheated oven and braise for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Stir in the chopped marzipan and continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
