Sloe Berries Tagine
A traditional North African-inspired stew made with sloe berries, perfect for a cold winter's day.

- β1 cup sloe berriesfresh or frozen
- β2 tablespoons algerianolive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon tagine spice mixavailable in most spice shops
- β1 cup wateror vegetable broth
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

Instructions

Heat the algerian in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the sloe berries, tagine spice mix, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add the water or vegetable broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes, or until the sloe berries have broken down and the sauce has thickened.
