Syrian Lamb Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Syria, featuring tender lamb and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Lamb ShoulderCut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 large Gentle OnionChopped
- β3 cloves Bitter GarlicMinced
- β1 teaspoon Syrian Allspice
- β1 teaspoon Cumin
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- β2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- β2 cups StewChopped tomatoes or tomato puree

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.

Reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped onion to the pot.

Cook the onion until softened, about 5 minutes.
