Keto Middle Eastern Braised Lamb Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic lamb tagine that's perfect for a keto diet. The rich and tender lamb is slow-cooked in a delicious mixture of spices and herbs.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Lamb loin chopspreferably with the bone
- β2 tablespoons Coconut oilfor browning the lamb
- β1 large Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1-inch piece Gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon Cuminground
- β1/2 teaspoon Cinnamonground
- β1/4 teaspoon Paprikasmoked
- β1 teaspoon Saltpreferably kosher
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepperfreshly ground
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsleychopped

Heat the coconut oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the lamb on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove the lamb from the pot and set it aside.

Reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped onion to the pot. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is softened and lightly browned, about 8 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

Add the ground cumin, cinnamon, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the pot and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

Return the lamb to the pot and add enough beef broth to cover the lamb. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

Braise the lamb in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours, or until it is tender and falls apart easily.

Remove the pot from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve the lamb hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
