Doner Kebab
A classic Turkish dish made from layers of lamb stacked on a vertical spit and thinly sliced for serving in a crispy pita. This recipe brings the flavors of the street to your kitchen.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound Lamb Doner MeatLook for pre-sliced doner meat at your local butcher or market
- ●4-6 Pita BreadWarm the pita bread by wrapping it in foil and heating it in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for 5 minutes
- ●1 head LettuceChopped or whole, your preference
- ●2 TomatoChopped or sliced
- ●1 OnionThinly sliced
- ●1 CucumberSliced
- ●1 cup Tzatziki SauceStore-bought or homemade
- ●1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper FlakesOptional for some heat
- ●to taste Salt and Black Pepper

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Wrap the pita bread in foil and heat it in the oven for 5 minutes.

Slice the doner meat into thin strips and cook in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crispy.

Warm the tzatziki sauce in the microwave or on the stovetop.

Assemble the kebabs by placing a few slices of the doner meat onto a warmed pita bread, followed by a dollop of tzatziki sauce, some chopped lettuce, tomato, onion, and cucumber.
