German-Style Dumpling Stew
A hearty German-inspired stew made with juicy dumplings and a flavorful broth.
Ingredients
- β2 cups, sliced german
- β4-6, homemade or store-bought dumplingshomemade or store-bought
- β1 cup riceuncooked
- β1 medium, chopped onionoptional
- β1 tsp caraway seedsoptional
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Bring the sliced german and 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes.

While the german is cooking, prepare the dumplings according to the package instructions or make your own using a simple dumpling recipe.

Add the cooked dumplings to the pot and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

Add the cooked rice to the pot and stir to combine.

If using onion and caraway seeds, add them to the pot and stir to combine.
