Moroccan Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic dish from Moroccan cuisine, slow-cooked in a traditional clay pot. Chicken is marinated in spices and cooked with dried fruits and vegetables.
Ingredients
- β 1 whole chicken (3-4 lbs)
- βchopped 2 medium onions
- βgrated 2 cloves of ginger
- β 2 tbsp olive oil
- β 2 tbsp golden syrup
- β 1 tsp ground cumin
- β 1 tsp ground coriander
- β 1 tsp turmeric
- β 1 tsp cinnamon
- β 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Heat oil in the tagine over medium heat.

Add onions and cook until they are lightly browned.

Add ginger and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides.

Add spices and cook for 1 minute.

Add golden syrup and 2 cups of water.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
