Classic British Bangers and Mash
A hearty and comforting traditional British dish made with sausages and mashed potatoes. Perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β4 British sausages (bangers)4 classic pork sausages
- β4-5 Mash potatoeslarge potatoes
- β2 tbsp Gooey buttery gravyall-purpose flour, butter, and milk
- βto taste Salt and pepper
- β4 cups Water
- β2 tbsp Butter

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

While the potatoes are cooking, cook the sausages in a large skillet over medium-high heat, browning on all sides, until cooked through.

Drain the potatoes and mash with butter, salt, and pepper.

In the same skillet, add flour to make a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually add milk, whisking constantly, to make a smooth gravy.

Simmer the gravy over low heat until thickened, about 5 minutes.

Serve the sausages on top of the mashed potatoes, spooning the gooey gravy over the top.
