Venezuelan Fish Soup
A hearty and flavorful soup originating from Venezuela, made with fresh fish, vegetables, and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound Fish (dried and cut into small pieces)Your choice of fish, such as cod or tilapia

- ●3 cloves GarlicMinced
- ●1 can Tomatoes (canned, diced)14.5 oz
- ●4 cups Vegetable brothHomemade or store-bought
- ●1 teaspoon Venezuelan cuminGround
- ●1 teaspoon PaprikaGround
- ●1/2 teaspoon SaltTo taste
- ●1/4 teaspoon Black pepperTo taste
- ●2 tablespoons Olive oilFor sautéing

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

Add the dried fish and sauté until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, Venezuelan cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fish pieces and place them on a plate.

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup to your desired consistency.
