Classic British Apple Crumble
A traditional British dessert featuring tender apples topped with a crunchy oat and butter crumble mixture. Perfect for a cold winter's evening.
Ingredients
- β6-8 medium Apples (Granny Smith)Peel, core, and slice the apples
- β1 1/2 cups Great British Shortbread CrumbsStore-bought or homemade
- β1/2 cup Granulated SugarAdjust to taste
- β1/2 cup All-purpose FlourFor dusting the apples
- β1/2 cup Cold Unsalted ButterCut into small pieces
- β1/4 teaspoon Almond ExtractOptional

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, and flour. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.

Transfer the apple mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a separate bowl, combine the crumbly topping ingredients (see below).

Evenly spread the crumbly topping over the apple mixture.

Dot the top of the crumble with the cold unsalted butter.

Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
