German Fish Bisque
A hearty and flavorful German-inspired fish soup made with halal fish and a rich bisque.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Halal Fish Fillets (Cod or Haddock)Fresh or frozen, thawed
- β1 cup Heavy Cream
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- β1 cup Dry White WineOptional
- β2 cups Fish StockHomemade or store-bought
- β2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
- β1 teaspoon Paprika
- βto taste Salt and Pepper

Heat the heavy cream in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Gradually add the fish stock, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Add the halal fish fillets to the saucepan and cook until they flake easily with a fork.

Stir in the dry white wine (if using), lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Reduce the heat to low and let the bisque simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
