Steamed Bao with Korean BBQ Beef
A twist on traditional bao, filled with marinated Korean BBQ beef and steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- β4-6 pieces Bao dough
- β1 pound Thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)Marinade for at least 30 minutes
- β2 tablespoons Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Brown sugar
- β2 inches Ginger
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1 bunch Green onions
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- βto taste Salt

1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and Korean chili flakes.

2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and mix well to coat.

3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

4. Preheat a steamer basket with boiling water.

5. Remove the beef from the marinade and place it in the steamer basket.

6. Steam the beef for 10-12 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

7. While the beef is steaming, prepare the bao dough according to the package instructions.

8. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the steamer and let it rest for a few minutes.

9. Slice the beef into thin strips and serve it in the steamed bao with green onions and sesame oil.
