Crispy Pork Dumplings
A traditional Chinese dish made with crispy wrappers and savory pork fillings, perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- β2 packages pork dumpling wrappers (wonton wrappers)available at most Asian grocery stores
- β1 pound ground porkyou can also use ground beef or a combination
- β1/2 cup chopped green onionsfor garnish
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon gingergrated
- β2 tablespoons soy saucefor dipping
- β1 tablespoon sesame oilfor frying
- βto taste salt and pepperfor seasoning

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until just combined.

Lay a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place a tablespoon of the pork filling in the center of the wrapper.

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

Press the edges together to seal the dumpling. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add a small amount of sesame oil.

When the oil is hot, add the dumplings to the pan, flat side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan and cover with a lid. Steam the dumplings for 5-7 minutes or until the wrappers are cooked through.

Serve the dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Note: You can also steam the dumplings in a steamer basket over boiling water for 5-7 minutes.
