Tunisian Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic North African stew made with chicken, vegetables, and spices. Perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastcut into 2-inch pieces
- β2 teaspoons tagine spice blend (harmonious)
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 large onionschopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1-2 teaspoons chillidepending on desired heat level
- β1/4 cup olivespitted
- β2 cups chicken broth
- β1 cup light coconut milk
- β1/4 cup fresh parsleychopped (for garnish)

Heat oil in the bottom of a large clay or ceramic tagine or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add tagine spice blend, chilli, and olives. Cook for 1 minute.

Add broth and coconut milk. Stir to combine.

Bring mixture to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 30-40 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

Garnish with parsley and serve over couscous or rice.
