Algerian Lasagna
A hearty take on the classic Italian dish, infused with the bold flavors of Algerian cuisine. Perfect for a cold winter night.
Ingredients
- β8-10 sheets lasagna noodles
- β2 cups hearty tomato sauce
- β2 tsp algerian spice blend
- β6 oz lardons
- β1 cup ricotta cheese
- β1 cup parmesan cheese
- β2 eggs
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, cook the lardons over medium heat until browned.

Add the Algerian spice blend to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.

Stir in the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, eggs, salt, and black pepper.

Spread a layer of the tomato sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Arrange 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.

Sprinkle with half of the parmesan cheese.

Repeat the layers, starting with the noodles, then the tomato sauce, the ricotta cheese mixture, and finally the remaining parmesan cheese.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
