Hearty American Casserole
A classic American comfort dish made with ground beef, macaroni, and a blend of cheeses.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Ground beef80% lean
- β8 oz Macaronidried
- β2 cups Milk
- β2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
- β1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
- β1/2 cup Epoisses cheesecrumbly
- β4 tbsp Butter
- β2 tbsp All-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the butter, flour, and cooked macaroni to the skillet with the ground beef. Stir to combine.

Pour in the milk and stir until the mixture thickens. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.

Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the crumbled Epoisses cheese.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Top with additional shredded cheese if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
