Dan Dan Mian
A popular Chinese noodle dish originating from the Sichuan province. The combination of spicy sauce, ground pork, and peanuts creates a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- β8 oz Dan Dan Mian noodlesFresh or dried noodles are acceptable
- β1/2 pound Ground porkYou can substitute with ground beef or tofu for a different twist
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β2 inches GingerSliced or minced
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- β2 tablespoons Chili bean paste
- β1 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
- βto taste Salt
- β1 tablespoon Sesame seedsOptional topping
- β1/4 cup ScallionsSliced, for garnish
Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions until they are slightly softened. Drain and set aside.

Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the ginger and garlic to the wok and stir-fry until fragrant.

Add the ground pork to the wok and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, chili bean paste, and red pepper flakes to the wok. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.

Add the cooked noodles to the wok and toss with the sauce until they are well coated.

Season with salt to taste, then transfer the noodles to a serving platter.

Sprinkle the sesame seeds and scallions on top, if using.
