Slovakian Gruyere Dumplings
A hearty Slovakian dish featuring fluffy dumplings and melted Gruyere cheese. Serve as a main course.
Ingredients
- β2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1 cup warm water
- β1 cup, shredded Gruyere cheese
- β2 tablespoons butter
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β1 cup, sliced slovakian sausage
- β1 medium, chopped onion
- β1 medium, grated carrot

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten slightly into a disk shape.

In a large pot of boiling water, cook the dumplings for 10-12 minutes, or until they float to the surface.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add sliced sausage and cook until browned.

Add chopped onion and grated carrot and cook until the vegetables are tender.
