Syrian Seafood Bisque
A hearty and harmonious take on the traditional seafood bisque, inspired by Syrian flavors.
Ingredients
- β1 pound seafood mix (shrimp, mussels, clams)fresh or frozen
- β2 medium onion
- β3 cloves garlic
- β2 tablespoons tomato paste
- β2 tablespoons lemon juice
- β1/4 cup olive oil
- β1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- β1/2 teaspoon cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon paprika
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- β1 cup heavy cream

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic and sautΓ© until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the seafood mix and cook until the seafood is opaque and cooked through, about 5 minutes.

Add the tomato paste, lemon juice, chili flakes, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth.

Return the soup to the pot and add the heavy cream.
