French Lamb Stew with Berbere
A rich and flavorful French-inspired stew made with lamb, berbere spice, and hearty vegetables.
Ingredients
- ●1.5 pounds Lamb shoulderCut into 1-inch cubes
- ●2 tablespoons Berbere spiceEthiopian chili powder
- ●2 medium CarrotsPeel and chop

- ●1 cup Red wineDry

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown lamb cubes in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove lamb from pot and set aside.

Add more oil if necessary, then sauté onions and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add carrots and potatoes, cook for 5 minutes.

Add berbere spice, red wine, and beef broth, scraping up browned bits.

Return lamb to pot, bring to a boil, then cover and transfer to oven.
