Spicy Korean Fried Rice
A simple and flavorful Korean-inspired fried rice dish that's perfect as a quick snack or meal. This recipe combines the savory flavors of Korean chili flakes with the crunch of crispy vegetables.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Cooked ricepreferably day-old rice
- β1/4 cup Fried rice mixoptional, but adds great flavor
- β1-2 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)adjust to taste
- β2 tbsp Vegetable oilfor frying
- β1/4 cup Scallionschopped, for garnish
- β1 Fried eggoptional, for added protein

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, then add the Korean chili flakes and stir for 1-2 seconds.

Add the cooked rice and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.

Add the fried rice mix and stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Push the rice mixture to one side of the pan, then add a little more oil if necessary and crack in a fried egg.

Scramble the egg, then mix it with the rice.

Season with salt to taste, then transfer the Spicy Korean Fried Rice to a serving platter.

Garnish with chopped scallions and serve immediately.
