Hearty Saudi Arabian Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic stew originating from Saudi Arabia, made with chicken, shallots, and spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- β4-5 shallots
- β2 tablespoons tagine spice blend
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 cup chicken broth
- β1/2 cup water
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in the bottom of a clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the shallots and cook, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the tagine spice blend, chicken broth, and water to the tagine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover the tagine and transfer it to the oven.

Bake the tagine at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the meat is tender.
