Smoked Salmon Cottage Pie
A hearty British-inspired pie filled with smoked salmon and topped with a creamy cottage cheese crust.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Smoked salmon
- β2 cups Cottage cheese
- β1 pound Ground beef
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β2 tablespoons Butter
- β1 cup Milk
- β1 cup Frozen mixed vegetables
- β Salt
- β Black pepper

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually add in the milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens.

Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and cook until they're heated through.

Add the cooked ground beef mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Top the ground beef mixture with a layer of smoked salmon.

In a separate bowl, mix together the cottage cheese and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Spread the cottage cheese mixture evenly over the top of the smoked salmon.

Dot the top of the cottage cheese with butter.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
