Smoked German Stew
A hearty and comforting stew filled with the rich flavors of Germany. Perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Smoked sausagesuch as knockwurst or bratwurst
- β1 can Canned beans (such as kidney or pinto)drained and rinsed
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 medium Carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 medium Potatoespeeled and chopped
- β2 tablespoons Tomato pastedissolved in 2 cups of beef broth
- β2 cups Beef brothhomemade or store-bought

Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

Add the smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the canned beans, chopped carrots, and chopped potatoes.

Pour in the dissolved tomato paste and beef broth.

Bring the stew to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 1 hour, or until the vegetables are tender.
