Hearty Syrian Lamb Bowl
A flavorful and nutritious bowl filled with tender lamb, rich spices, and fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds lamb shouldercut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 tablespoons olive oilfor browning the lamb
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon cuminground
- β1 teaspoon corianderground
- β1/2 teaspoon paprikasweet
- β1 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- β1 can chickpeasdrained and rinsed
- β1/4 cup chopped fresh parsleyfor garnish

Preheat the oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

In a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb cubes and brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chickpeas to the pot and stir to combine.

Return the lamb to the pot and stir to combine.

Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and cook for 2 1/2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.

Serve the lamb and chickpeas over a bed of fluffy rice or with some crusty bread, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
