Slovakian Pork Dumplings
A hearty and comforting Slovakian dish featuring pork dumplings in a rich, velvety sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Pork
- β2 cups All-purpose Flour
- β2 large Eggs
- β1 cup Sour Cream
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 cloves Garlic

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, flour, eggs, sour cream, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.

Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Divide the mixture into 8-10 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 1/8 inch thick.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the dumplings for 2-3 minutes on each side, until lightly browned.

Transfer the cooked dumplings to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, until fragrant.

Return the cooked dumplings to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
