Grilled Plantain Empanadas
A twist on traditional Venezuelan empanadas, using grilled plantains as the main filling. A delicious and hearty snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- β4-5 Plantains
- β2 cups Hearty All-Purpose Flour
- β1 cup Grated Cheddar Cheese
- β2 Eggs
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- βfor brushing Vegetable Oil

1. Peel the plantains and slice them into 1-inch rounds.

2. Grill the plantain slices over medium heat until they develop a nice char and are slightly tender.

3. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cheese, eggs, salt, and pepper.

5. Mix the dough ingredients until a ball forms.

6. Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces.

7. Roll out each piece of dough into a thin circle.

8. Place a few slices of grilled plantain in the center of each dough circle.

9. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.
