Pan-Seared Fish with Croatian Flaky Pastry
A simple and flavorful fish dish paired with a traditional Croatian pastry.
Ingredients
- β4 Fish fillet (flaky)Cod or Pollock work well.
- β1 sheet Croatian flaky pastryAvailable in most European bakeries.
- β1 tbsp Herbal butterChopped fresh herbs like parsley or dill work great.
- βto taste SaltSeason to taste.
- βto taste PepperSeason to taste.
- β2 tbsp Olive oilFor greasing the pan.
- β4 Lemon wedgesFor serving (optional).

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Season the fish fillet with salt and pepper.

In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

Add the fish to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.

Transfer the fish to a baking sheet and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes.

Meanwhile, roll out the Croatian flaky pastry to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Place the pastry on top of the fish and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Remove the fish from the oven and brush with herbal butter.
