Jamaican Flaxseed Chicken Tagine
A sweet and spicy chicken dish inspired by traditional Moroccan tagines, made with Jamaican jerk seasoning and flaxseed.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breasts
- β2 tablespoons Jamaican jerk seasoning
- β2 tablespoons flaxseedground
- β1/4 cup honey
- β1 tablespoon tagine spice mix
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup chicken broth

Heat oil in a large tagine or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add jerk seasoning, flaxseed, honey, and tagine spice mix. Stir to combine.

Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

Cover and cook until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened, about 20-25 minutes.
