Indian-Style Crunchy Pakora
A crispy and flavorful Indian snack made with a variety of ingredients. Enjoy with a warm cup of chai.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Pakora Mix (available at most Indian grocery stores)You can also make your own mix using a combination of flour, cornstarch, and spices
- β2 cups Vegetable OilFor frying the pakora
- β1 medium OnionThinly sliced
- β1 medium PotatoThinly sliced
- β1 cup shredded CheeseFor added flavor and texture
- β2 tablespoons Hot SauceFor an extra kick (optional)
Instructions

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, add a small piece of pakora mix to test the temperature.

If it sizzles and rises to the surface, it's ready to fry.

Add the sliced onion and potato to the oil and fry until they are golden brown.

Remove the onion and potato from the oil with a slotted spoon and set aside.

Add the shredded cheese to the oil and fry until it's melted and crispy.

Add the fried onion and potato back to the oil and stir well.

Add the hot sauce (if using) and stir well.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the pakora from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
