Smoked Salmon Tagine
A flavorful North African-inspired stew made with smoked salmon, Egyptian spices, and hot peppers.
Ingredients
- β6 oz Smoked salmon
- β2-3 Egyptian hot peppersadjust to desired heat level
- β2 tsp Tagine spice blend
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 cup Chicken broth
- β1 cup Riceuncooked
Instructions

Heat oil in the bottom of a clay or ceramic tagine or large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add smoked salmon, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Add hot peppers, tagine spice blend, and chicken broth.

Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through.

Stir in rice and cook, covered, for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the rice is tender.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.
