Spicy Pilchard Bokkeum
A spicy Korean-inspired stir-fry made with pilchards and vegetables.
Ingredients
- β1 can (drained and flaked) Pilchards
- β2 cups (sliced) Bokkeum
- β2 inches (sliced) Ginger
- β3 cloves (minced) Garlic
- β2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- β1 tablespoon Gojuchang
- β1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
- β1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
- β1 teaspoon Korean Chili Flakes
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
Instructions

1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add the sliced bokkeum and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until tender.

3. Add the minced garlic and sliced ginger and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.

4. Add the flaked pilchards and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.

5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, gojuchang, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and Korean chili flakes.

6. Pour the sauce over the pilchard mixture and stir to combine.

7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

8. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
