Italian Pasta with Hake
A quick and flavorful Italian-inspired pasta dish featuring hake as the main protein. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β4 hake fillets
- β8 oz pastayour choice of italian pasta, e.g. spaghetti or linguine
- β2 strips (about 2 inches long) kombu
- β1 cup dressed olives
- β1 tsp italian seasoning
- β2 cloves garlic
- β2 tbsp lemon juice
- β2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions.

While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the hake fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they're cooked through and flake easily with a fork.

Remove the hake from the skillet and set it aside to rest.

Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the kombu to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, until it starts to soften.

Add the dressed olives, Italian seasoning, and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Return the hake to the skillet and toss with the olive mixture.

When the pasta is done cooking, drain it and add it to the skillet with the hake and olive mixture. Toss everything together to combine.

Serve the pasta hot, topped with additional dressed olives if desired.
