Crispy Dutch Cod Fritters
A classic Dutch dish, these crispy cod fritters are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or side.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Cod
- βBreadcrumbs (Panko or regular) 2 cups
- βLarge onion 1finely chopped
- βGarlic 2 clovesminced
- βSalt 1 tablespoon
- βBlack pepper 1/2 teaspoon
- βAll-purpose flour 1/4 cup
- β 2 eggs
- β1 Incredibly crispytype of Dutch fritter oil (or vegetable oil)

1. Cut the cod into small pieces and place them in a bowl.

2. In a separate bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and flour.

3. Add the bread mixture to the cod pieces and mix until just combined.

4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.

5. Add the eggs to the cod mixture and mix until everything is well combined.

6. Heat about 1/2 inch (1 cm) of the incredibly crispy oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

7. Using a spoon, drop small amounts of the cod mixture into the hot oil and flatten slightly.

8. Cook the fritters for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

9. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
